we are writing as a follow-up to the letters dated january 24, 2014, and march 29, 2014,. to all congregations regarding the adjustments now underway to accelerate construction of king-.
dom halls and assembly halls.. .
"the congregation has already passed a resolution, the elders should await further direction before sending the resolved funds to the branch office."
Maybe some congregations have already sent monies in and it's not close to the expected amounts, so they are revising the plan like TTATT elder refered to in his last comment, to make the amounts requested more compatiable to the borg's budget.
i am sure that this has already been discussed, so maybe someone could direct me to the correct link.

crazyguy - I could understand the "natural disaster" logic, but were we are, we don't experience any real natural disasters, no earthquakes, flooding, hurricanes etc. I agree LisaRose that it is very sad to go to this extreme to frighten people into submission. We didn't even have these "go bags" during the 1975 debacle. I think we had more faith then that we would be taken care of when the big A came, and it shows what a panic the borg is displaying now.

yes I'm sure of accuracy and I will try to find out more tomorrow. Lois this one was called a survival kit and the brothers were asked to write down a list of items that should be in it. They were also told it should be enough to carry them through six months including any medications they might be taking. I've heard of brothers stocking up on stuff but nothing so specific from platform before

I hadn't heard about this before, but the brother who told me said it has been an ongoing request, but was discussed again tonight with a list given out. Was this just at our meeting, or did others get this same message?

Grace, as you know I don't post here very often either. I have been on this site (originally under another name before I changed internet carriers) for over ten years as well. I have gained strength from your courage, your refusal to back down from your beliefs even when you were sometimes mocked and made fun of. There were times when I made, what I thought, were legitmate comments about some topics and received the same treatment. My first thought was to never post again, that this site was just as bad as the borg for judging and putting people down that didn't agree with their point of view. But you made me realize that these ones are a very small part of this community and you and your comments made me keep coming back, even if I did not feel comfortable posting very often, I enjoyed your sharp, witty and intelligent arguments. Don't let a few hurt and bitter people win. If you need a break, take it, but don't stay away too long. We all need and love you!!

can anyone save me the stress of listening to the self-appointed faithful & discreet slave for 3 hours, and give a clue as to roughly at what point in the proceedings was the derogatory term 'bum witnesses used, and by whom?
i'd really love to extract that comment and send it to a weakening witness, to highlight the judgmental arrogance and name-calling being displayed.. many thanks in advance folks!.
I don't think anyone meant to be judgmental, I certainly didn't. I just thought it would be a good idea to clear up the misunderstanding about where the word "bum" was used.

Sorry Spash - the term was used - just not in the context that was reported by the other notetaker. I have written out an exact transcription of the excerpt that was towards the end of the program. It was meant to bring some levity to the meeting, but he was a member of the GB and he did end up insiutating that "southern brothers" are guilty of this. Here's the quote:

i received an email from a member who is not comfortable posting yet, says for now he just lurks - but he/she made a very interesting comment about the gb giving instructions to the elders about making adjustments.
